The Sacred Earth Foundation is so honored to bring the Sayaka Inka to Yoga Soup on September 6 at 7:00PM! You can see them on youtube:
Join us as we gather together to shake with joy to their music and to experience the ceremony imbued in their song. A portion of your $20 will go to support their mission and to help their village. More than 400 children of their village died from cold related difficulties.
The Sayaka Inka Cultural Group are descendants from the Sayaka Inka Village in Puno, Peru, near the sacred Lake Titicaca. They came to the United States to fulfill a 500 year old prophecy of their people; the Condor would reunite with the Eagle. During their visit in the United States, they have continued to meet with several North American Indigenous Tribes to fulfill this prophesy and danced the "Dance of the Condor" for the final time at the Santa Barbara Zoo before the California Condor Exhibit.

In November 2009, the Group will leave for Puno Peru and a ceremony will be prepared for the wings of the Condor. These wings have been passed down through five generations and will then be laid to rest by the River of the Condor.

Through their cultural exchange of dance, music, and ceremony they are able reach a vast group of people and make connections through the heart, where they truly reside.
