Description: The Goleta Valley Branch of the American Association of University Women will present “Understanding Climate Change,” a talk by Barbara Goss Levi, on Thursday, November 12, at 6:00 pm in the Faulkner Gallery of the Santa Barbara Public Library.
The talk will outline the case that scientists make to link the increases in atmospheric greenhouse gases with the changes that have been measured in Earth’s climate. It will include projections for the future and a discussion of what society in general—and we as individuals—can do about climate change.
Barbara Goss Levi holds a Ph.D. in physics from Stanford University, has taught physics courses at Georgia Tech, Rutgers, and UCSB, and is a fellow of the American Physical Society and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
She has served on the Board of Directors for Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara and the UCSB General Affiliates.
