Description: Artist Carol Kemp will provide the program at the Wednesday, November 11th general meeting of the Santa Ynez Valley Artists Guild. The meeting, which is open to the public as well as members, will be held at the Grange Hall in Los Olivos at 2 p.m.
Carol Kemp works in a wide variety of media; pencils, paint, ink, printmaking, paper, fiber, beads, stone and metal. Her demonstration at the meeting will be on working with metal clay. Metal clay is 99.9% pure silver, with the rest organic binder and water. It can be kneaded and shaped like clay and when fired in a kiln or heated with a torch becomes hard and pure. It can then be further shaped and sculpted.
