In conjunction with the photo and art exhibit Haitian Youth in Action, a reception and fundraiser will be held as part of Haitian Flag Week, an annual series of events organized by the UCSB Center for Black Studies Research to promote Haitian history, arts, and culture. The exhibit includes portraits of students at Bibliothque du Soleil, a community library in the Haitian capital of Port au Prince, as well as colorful drawings by children and teenagers participating in summer programs at the Bibliothque and two schools.All donations are tax-deductible and will be used to support the summer camp program at the Bibliothque du Soleil library in Haiti.
