Santa Barbara Public Library needs volunteers to read books to children in public health clinics with the Reach Out and Read program, which works with doctors and nurses to make early literacy an integral part of a healthy childhood.
Bilingual readers are especially encouraged to apply, as the vast majority of our patients are Spanish-speaking. This volunteer orientation will empower you to become a part of promoting early literacy among the most vulnerable children in Santa Barbara.
