Three Warriors: The Militarist, the Terrorist and the Gandhian

Description:
What does it mean to be a warrior? Can a warrior fight for peace and justice rather than violence? Terrorism, which seems so prevalent today, is simply the militarism of the poor, two sides of the same coin, both motivated primarily by fear. Gandhi was also a warrior, one for truth and nonviolence, who fueled the independence of a nation.
Join political science professor Manou Eskandari and life-long Gandhian activitist Shashi Tyagi, co-founder of GRAVIS, a non-profit organization based on Gandhian principles in India, in a discussion of the root causes of violence and peace. Part of a week long retreat on Gandhian principles at La Casa de Maria, this evening forum is open to the public at no charge.
