The Santa Barbara Blues Society, the oldest existing blues society in the U.S., presents its gala 32nd Anniversary Show on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Warren Hall, Earl Warren Showgrounds. The music starts at 8:30 PM, doors open at 7:30. There will be free Cajun food snacks and a birthday cake! The dance floor is now larger, and the beer and wine bar is always open. Plenty of free parking, too. Tickets available at the door.
The Mannish Boys, a 7-piece revue of stellar blues musicians, has been setting the blues world on fire since its inception five years ago. Their debut album, "That Represent Man," introduced the band with a flourish. It was followed by "Live and in Demand" in 2005, and "Big Plans" in 2007. By then the band was touring internationally and drawing rave reviews at one festival after another.
