Description: Banham’s influential yet controversial book Los Angeles: The Architecture of Four Ecologies, saw beauty in the city’s sprawling layout and car-based urbanism. The BBC documented Banham’s vision of Los Angeles for an episode of its series One Pair of Eyes. In the documentary, Banham leads viewers on a tour of the city’s cultural landscape, including Simon Rodia’s Watts Towers and the Lovell House designed by Richard Neutra, as well as minimalls, drive-thrus, and strip clubs.
