Join a community-wide symposium on the crisis in health care. Leaders from the health care community, faith community, and civic and national representatives will be giving their perspective on one of the critical issue being addressed in this election year. Guest speakers are Dr. Elliot Schulman, Director/Health Officer for the S.B. Health Department; Rabbi Arthur Gross-Schaefer, Professor of Business Law, Ethics and Spirituality at Loyola Marymount University, and Rabbi for Shul of Montecito; Congresswoman Lois Capps, 23rd District. The speakers will then be joined by other resource people for a panel discussison led by Pam Washburn, Director of Spiritual Care at Cottage Hospital: Gerry W. Arcuri, Regional Vice President, Hospital Association; Walter Hamilton, Service Employees International Union; Dr. Lynne Jahnke, Medical Director for Casa Esperanza; Dr. Chris Lambert, Emergency Department; R. Lyle Luman, CenCal Health. This event is intended to encourage greater understanding, discussion, and involvement in the critical issue of health care for this community and the nation.
