Description: The tour, organized to promote green building concepts and designs, will feature five sites, each of which will demonstrate examples of sustainable green architectural design and building materials. For example, you can see how a tankless on-demand water heater works. You can also see examples of Cobb and hay bale construction along with a state-of-the art garden roof with succulents growing on it. One home will showcase a new variable speed swimming pool pump that will reduce energy consumption and qualify you for a $200 rebate through SCE. Another 50-year-old remodeled house demonstrates how the original wood framing can be re-used as mulch in drought tolerant landscaping.
The event will culminate with a reception and awards ceremony with guest speaker, along with wine and light bites at the Ojai Foundation’s newly constructed Community Room, featuring a state-of-the art designed garden roof with succulents.
