Rock in Peace

Seven-hour music festival showcasing Ventura County favorites Dr. Surf, Hindu Kush, Char-man, Krusader, Shades of Day and PeaceBomb as well as the San Francisco-based group Golden Animals

When: Saturday, May 10, 2008, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Libbey Bowl, 205 E. Ojai Ave., Ojai, CA

Cost: $8

Description: The festival is organized Oak Grove High School students to bring quality performances to the community and raise money for the school’s music department.
Oak Grove students have earned recognition in local and regional music communities. Hindu Kush, featuring Oak Grove senior Pablo Esquer won BB King’s 2008 Battle of the Bands competition in Los Angeles, the Oak Grove High School rock band has earned top honors for three years straight at the Ojai schools’ Battle of the Bands, and several Oak Grove students have performed professionally at the iconic Whiskey a Go Go on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, and at sites throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara County.
