Dave Stringer, an accomplished composer, multi-instrumentalist and singer, has a special gift for bringing people together in ecstatic chant, his own version of kirtan, call and response mantra singing. Punctuating the traditional mantras with flights of improvisation, he chants with luminous intensity and a freedom that is contagious. Dave Stringer's sound marries the transcendent mysticism of traditional Indian instruments with the exuberant, groove-oriented sound of American gospel.
