Description: Southern Californians live in one of the most flammable places on earth. Whether your house is surrounded by chaparral or by non-native landscape plantings, you really need to consider the safety of your home in a wildfire. We are all potentially at risk. Fire-Wise Landscaping will teach you how to prepare for a wildfire by evaluating and making changes in your landscaping and its management. You will also learn how to evaluate the fire safety of your house and make appropriate modifications. Owen Dell is a nationally recognized expert in firescaping, was co-designer of the Firescape Garden and is a consultant on urban/wildland interface fires to the US Forest Service, National Fire Protection Association, and other organizations.
