Description: The Need is Great... The Solution is Simple
Every day thousands of patients who need a life-saving transplant search for a donor. Help save someone's life and sign up for the National Marrow Donor Registry. It's simple: complete a consent form and swab the inside of your mouth, and that's it. Come and enjoy free food, live music and raffle awards at the Junior League sponsored event and utilize the Tri Counties Blood Bank Mobile Unit and donate blood.
During the Blood & Bone Marrow Drive, the Junior League of SB is collaborating with Our Lady of Sorrows Church and the Santa Barbara City Fire Association to register a marrow match for a 35-year-old husband and father Aaron De Oca who suffers from myelodyspastic syndrome (MDS). The only cure for him is a bone marrow transplant; Aaron will not survive without it.
