Description: The Granada Music & Arts Conservatory offers a brand new class beginning October 18. Vocal Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Isaac Jenkins.
This year, Conservatory students in the Vocal Jazz Ensemble will tour around the region, including a performance on May 18, 2008, at newly-renovated Granada.
The Jazz Vocal Ensemble, for students ages 12 – 18, includes study, vocal technique and performance ofBig Band and other Jazz styles. The weekly class will explore jazz vocabulary and articulation, innovative texturizing and shaping. Students will learn ear training, recognition of chord progressions and modulating changes, basic chord building theory and balance within the group.
