Description: Perry Lorenzo, Seattle Opera’s Education Director, will explore the life, times, culture, and art of Gaetano Donizetti in an upcoming lecture titled The Elixir of Song. “Love and art mix in this composer’s magical musical Elixir,” notes Lorenzo, “in an era of rich, sensual, romanticism.” Donizetti is the composer of The Elixir of Love, which will be performed by Opera Santa Barbara as part of the Italian Passions festival next February.
