In her first year on the scene she was nominated for the Artist of the Year Award by the National Academy of Songwriters. She released her debut CD, “the seed” to rave reviews, and was chosen to receive ASCAP's prestigious Sammy Cahn Lyricist Award, presented at the Lincoln Center in NYC.
