History
They met in 2010 at Rockshop Academy started a band call Retro Genius after a 7 month hiatus they reunited at Rockshop Academy in August 2011. They picked up where there left off rebirthing their band with a new feel, new edge and new name “The Wha Wha’s.”
The Wha Wha’s have been on the fast track playing different venues, private parties and events including: The Roxy, Whisky A Go Go, Creekside, The Mint, Fiesta, Avofest, SOhO, Savoy and won 2nd Place in the Santa Barbara Youth Battle of the Bands at the Lobero Theater. They are the first group to emerge from Santa Barbara’s Rockshop Academy, and quickly growing as Santa Barbara newest upcoming teen band.
Their music has an indie rock mix with sounds from classic rock to rap to alternative rock. What makes them unique is they are all equally talented musicians who sing, play multiple instruments, and write their own songs.
