History

Chad Land (00-metro and R.F.R) started playing instrumental acoustic concerts up and down the Central Coast, earning a wide variety of fans both young and old. With his desire to broaden the spectrum of musical styles, and the goal of building a full band, Craig Cowell (00-Metro) and Dusty Rhoads (Joose) were added to the lineup. In September of 2005 Hollywood's Sage and Sound Studios was their temporary home where they created the four-song demo that quickly caught the interest of many of Hollywood's top mixers and studios. After a year of shows and touring, with much new material, The Axia took time out to record their debut release, The Axia EP.

Formed

2005, San Luis Obispo, CA

Current status

The Axia is hard rock band out of Central California. With their die hard fans' and immense local radio support, they’re consistently performing at sold-out shows. The Axia offers a new sound that's been long awaited by listeners everywhere. This year they have shared the stage with such acts as Ted Nugent, Drowning Pool, Nonpoint, L.A. Guns, The Bullet Boys, Travis Warren (Blind Mellon), and Devon Allman and his Honeytribe. Eager to spread their music to a rapidly expanding fanbase, The Axia EP (released in mid-March) was immediately picked up by New Rock 107.3 FM and earned The Axia a spot on the New Rock “SLO and Dysfuntional” compilation CD, as well as subsequent tours. The Axia has also been featured 93.3 KZOZ’s Jeff and Jeremy Morning Show. The response has been unbelievable and the e-mails keep pouring in.
